El viernes fue un día de ecuación. El tema de esta semana es Hambre y Pobreza y tuvimos distintas exposiciones sobre el tema. Sin duda lo más fuerte del día fue la actividad final en la que nos dimos cuenta lo desigual que es el mundo. Dividieron el cast con las proporciones de la gente que vive en riqueza, clase media y pobreza, después de eso nos dieron de cenar lo que nos correspondería si fuésemos el mundo. Evidentemente nos dimos cuenta de que la pobreza y la hambruna nos los males más terribles de la humanidad. Muchos lloramos, otros reflexionamos. La gente dijo cosas profundas. No sabemos qué podemos hacer para cambiar esta situación en el mundo, sin embargo sabemos que dentro de nosotros está la respuesta.
El sábado llegó. Para nuestra sorpresa ese día fue el Día de Apreciación del Staff para con el cast. El staff preparó una serie de números musicales y distintas actividades para nosotros. Incluso ellos armaron el escenario por nosotros. Nos hicieron sentir especiales y sin duda alguna tocaron nuestros corazones. ¡Muchas gracias staff!
El show del sábado fue también un éxito, sin duda alguna el público de Chattahoochee Valley nos recibió con pompa y circunstancia: teatro lleno, ovaciones por cada canción: lo mejor de todo. Y por cierto, bailé el número Keep the Beat (Mantengan el ritmo) que estuve preparando por tanto tiempo, todo un logro para mí, esto lo logré gracias a los capitanes de baile Scott y Keighley: muchas gracias.
El día de hoy, domingo, Candy nos llevó a los Jardines Callaway donde montamos en bicicletas y nos paseamos por todos los rincones y jardines de azaleas. Fue una experiencia dulce. Aquí podrán ver fotos. Mañana debemos decir adiós y de nuevo ese hueco en la panza me dice que será día de lágrimas. Candy y Drexer han sido excepcionales con nosotros. Ahora nos vamos a Venice en Florida donde nos espera la playa, el calor y muchas nuevas aventuras.
Por cierto… ¿ya notaron que me corté el cabello?, je, je, je…

Thursday. The second day of “Sand for Peace” was such a success. Leo from Brazil, Kelli from the United States and I did a good team. The show behind tracks which we presented to the schools was fantastic. The day was full of activities but was relaxed.
Friday was education day. The theme of the week is Hunger and Poverty and we had a lot of expositions about that. The strongest thing was the last activity of the day, because we realized how unequal the world is. They divided the cast with the proportions of the people who are rich, middle class and poor in the world and after that they gave us dinner but in proportions of the group we represented. It was obvious that the hunger and poverty is one of the worst things in the world. A lot of us cried, others reflected. The cast said very deep things. We don’t know what to do to change this situation in the world; however we know that the answer for that is inside of us.
The Saturday arrived. We realized with surprise that day was the Appreciation Day Staff day. They prepared musical number and other activities for us. In fact they set the stage for us. They made us feel special and they touched our hearts. Thank you very much dear staff!
The show at Saturday night was a success too; without any doubt the audience of Chattahoochee Valley received us with pomp and circumstance: full house, big ovations after each song: the best. By the way, I danced Keep the Beat, I had been practicing this number for long time, so it is such an achievement for me. I made it because of the help of the dance captains Scott and Keighley. Thank you very much.
Today Sunday, Candy showed us the Callaway Gardens where we ridded bicycles and saw the beautiful azalea gardens. It was a sweet experience. Here you can see pictures. Tomorrow we need to say goodbye again and that feeling of emptiness in my stomach tells me that’ll be a day of tears. Candy and Drexer had been wonderful with us. Now we will go to Venice, Florida where the beach, heat and a lot of adventures are waiting for us.
By the way… did you notice that I had a hair cut? He, he, he…
